Milling Around SC...

Week of Dec 2: Headed south to Pawley's Island - lots to sketch & paint- and also in Georgetown, SC,...onto Mount Pleasant, where I stayed for several days, as the Charleston, SC session did not take place...so, I spent the next three days sketching sites in & around Mt. Pleasant and Shem Creek - lots of good stuff there. Tuesday ventured into Charleston for a buggy ride thru the old historic district, sketching for the afternoon. Thursday to Beaufort, SC... that's Beau-long 'u', unlike 'Bowfort, NC'. Another great town, lots of history and a buggy tour on Friday also netted me a $50 - yes, $50 parking ticket in an empty city parking lot, while I was on the buggy tour... I did 'appeal' at the town office. Visited the Beaufort Art Association gallery - very nice display of regional art, although too much 'original photography'. On south to Hilton Head Island; had dinner with Phil & Barb Johnson in-laws of my son, Jeff, and stayed overnite at their home on Callawassee Island.

Great Time in Morehead City

Week of Nov 25: Arrived in Morehead City, NC on Sunday; scouted out sketching locations on Monday & Tuesday...worked thru Blusail Gallery at 903 Arendell St (Rt. 70),and had a successful session, Wednesday - Friday, at great locations & lots of seafood - oysters, anyone?  Met many folks at the gallery's 'art walk' on Friday 
evening, to cap off the week... now on south to Southport & Wilmington, NC... Charleston, SC by Tuesday

Back on the Road!

Nov 23: The van is finally fixed and I'm back on the road! Leaving Connecticut on my way to Morehead City, NC for a session on Wednesday. Excited to be back on schedule!

Bring on the Cold

Week of Nov 24th:  Hope to have van back on road on Monday, for a quick trip to Morehead City, NC.  Weather here this week, was sunny, but cool. An email asked how I plan to handle cool weather, as I travel down the Atlantic coast: put another layer on... I have a pair of gloves, with the fingers cut out, but never have used 'em....'plein air' is what it's all about!!
 

Going Nowhere Fast...

Week of Nov 17th:  Seems that the auto repair shop has possibly found the necessary part to get my van back on the road, so I ended my search for a new vehicle... spent most of the week checking out sites and adding sketches to my 'Cape Cod Journal' - now about half done.

Have Time Will Journal

Week of Nov 10th: Decided that I might as well make good use of this delay in Cape Cod, so I started work on a 'CAPE COD JOURNAL', which has gone quite well this week... cancelled session in Salisbury, MD... next session is Nov. 28-30 in Morehead City NC... contact there is Lynne at 252-723-9516.
